This is 2022!!!
What is the Lord Saying?
Joel 2:18-29
Towards the ending of last year, I began to ask the Lord what He's saying about 2022.
And I was surprised when He mentioned "RESTORATION OF TIME".
I was surprised because He was specific about what He intends to restore... TIME!
Then, I knew it was something to seek Him further on...
Now, I experienced this Restoration of Time first when I was in the university.
I had gone through second year and my results were not as good as I wanted. I cried and prayed for a turnaround. I didn't goal to get a first class but an excellent second class upper, but even the 2:1 was becoming a shadow and I had only 6 semesters to go (3rd year, 4th year and final year).
You know what? These last 3 years were the easiest years of my university life. I read with so much specificity. You know when God says that we'll hear a voice behind us saying: 'This is the way, walk ye in it', I experienced it.
And for the first time, I had an 'A' and the highest in a course that almost half of the class failed.
And everyone sought to know the person with the strange registration number with an 'A'. As I was entering the class that day, everyone started shouting: "Congratulations" and other wonderful words of affirmation.
And that was just the beginning...
By the time we were graduating, a younger colleague made a statement which I won't forget and I paraphrase: "You and 2 other ladies have shown clearly that it is possible to serve God (be very spiritual) and yet very excellent in your academics."
That is Restoration of Time!

So, from our text, we can see God responding to the Israelites who had initially complained about the hardship they were facing, and it seemed there was no hope for them.
But God indeed is the answer to our life's questions. This is similar to what we're facing in our times and I'm here to announce to us that God is ready to answer us.
When we think we've lost it all, the Lord shows up.
Now, looking closely at that scripture, we can see that the Lord has a pattern in which He responds to prayers of delays...
And that's what I'll be sharing with us before we talk more deeply on Restoration.
God's Patterns for Restoration
1. Mercy: Until the Lord shows us mercy, we'll not receive from Him.
Mercy precedes Answers to prayers.
This was why most people whom Jesus healed always sought for His mercy:
"Jesus, Son of David, have MERCY on me". So, don't be ashamed to seek for God's Mercy.
2. Provision: Provision is the answer which the Mercy of God brings. And God's provision comes with satisfaction and takes away reproach. It becomes so evident that people who knew us before are forced to acknowledge this provision.
3. Removal: God handles the enemy who brought the reproach until we Experience absolute victory!
4. The Rain: The Rain is the Blessing which brings about an increase. Look at it as the yeast in the flour, or the manure in the farm.
Except the Lord builds a house, they labour in vain that build.
Now, many hit and run Christians are not patient to receive this Rain (Blessing that causes an increase) because they feel that they want to use God to solve their problems. This makes people live in repeated cycle of problems...
The Lord revealed His ways (Who He is) to Moses and His acts (His miracles) to the children of Israel. Seek to know His ways, not just His acts.
5. RESTORATION
The dictionary meaning of Restoration is the action of returning something to a former owner, place, or condition.
But our emphasis is on Restoration of Time.
It simply means bringing to you all the opportunities positions you had missed in time, and in great measures than you could have achieved in such a short while.
Now, the Bible says this:
Men do not despise a thief, if he steal To satisfy his soul when he is hungry; But if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; He shall give all the substance of his house. Proverbs 6:30-31 KJV

A thief when caught pays back not just what he stole but 7 times what he stole.
And that is when we can truly say that there is Restoration!
The Lord is ready to RESTORE time to us through speed and favours! And we shall testify to His goodness now and always.
