3 out of every 5 teenagers think kissing, hugging are proofs of love. They are either experimenting already or can’t wait to know what it feels like.
When a person becomes sexually aroused, they go for those things for selfish gratification.
They are simply things your “lover” may want to get from you but they are not proofs of love.
That opposite sex you call your “special friend” who 👇
-has just turned to an enemy instantly just because you said, “I can’t do premarital sex now” and you are apologizing to them over nothing that you did [BUT, LOVE IS PATIENT],
- is only known to you but unknown to your family [BUT, LOVE IS KIND]
- is always opening your eyes to evil and the ways of evil. Since you met them, you have done what you never imagined you could do. You sneak out of school, you lie to your parents, everything has turned upside down and you are in shock of who you have become [BUT, LOVE THINKS NOT EVIL],
- is always doing “me first”, “you are hurting my feelings” and you dey run kitikiti and katakata checking what you have done wrong every single minute [BUT, LOVE SEEKS NOT HER OWN],
- gets angry with people that try to lead you aright and makes you separate from good and truthful people [BUT, LOVE REJOICES IN THE TRUTH]
- is always judging, guilt-tripping and black mailing you with your past mistakes [BUT, LOVE KEEPS NO RECORD OF WRONG]
- their only dream is to go abroad! You can't explain what they are learning or doing [LOVE IS NOT PROUD,]
-is always wanting you to come alone and to their house; always calling you out at odd hours and making you feel "special" [BUT, LOVE DOESN'T BEHAVE ITSELF UNSEEMLY],
They do not love you. You are their akpooaza (call and response); only good for hugging and kissing.
Most of those who come to you for special friendship, in your teenage hood, do not have love to give you. They want you for satisfaction. They are nothing but distractions against your future. If they are your mates, tell me how a trained person can train another! Babies don’t take care of babies!
How do you feel when you see a fellow teenager with 1 or 2 or 3 pregnancies? You pity them, right? Do the right thing so you too will not eat pity. Focus on things that will make you a better and attractive adult tomorrow. Devote your time now for future gratification. There's time for everything.
