HOW EMPLOYERS SEE YOU THROUGH YOUR CV

Dear Graduate,

On 25th July, 2019, I wrote about the Employer's Perceived Value (EPV) of your CV. Today, using the abbreviation "CV," I present to you how employers see you through your CV:

1. Copied Value: Employers see you as someone who is not authentic if your CV is written in a generic language and format used by others.

2. Careless Value: You are seen as careless if your CV has errors in punctuation, margin alignment, numbering, spellings, and the use of capital and small letters.

3. Confusing Value: They see you as confused if your CV shows time gaps, irregular career moves, and no link between your previous experience and the position you are applying for.

4. Crafty Value: If you claim to have the work experience that you don't have just to impress employers, they see you as crafty.

5. Conditional Value: Employers see you as a conditional hire if you meet most of their requirements. They mark you as a candidate for training.

6. Convincing Value: Employers are convinced if you present a result-based CV which shows metrics of your performance in previous jobs. If they see through the interview that you are what you presented on paper, they will hire you.

7. Capable Value: You are seen as capable if you graduated from a reputable university or worked for an organization with vast industry exposure. This kind of CV moves employers to call you for negotiations.

8. Credible Value: They see you as credible if you are referred by, or worked under, references who are respected in the industry for their credibility.

Your CV is not just a document. It says so much about you. Make your CV speak for you.
