"An experience in school taught me about fear of the unknown. One early morning around 2am, I saw a white symbol in the bush on my way back from a discussion class. The symbol seemed like a skeletal material hung on a small tree. I was walking home alone and everywhere being dark, I was filled with fear. I paused for some seconds and then walked slowly. I later ran to escape that point. Being a curious person, I woke up at 7am and went back to the spot to see what was actually there in the bush. It was an old white bucket hung on a wood in a farm for demarcation. I felt foolish. The fear, the pause, the race drama and all happening within me were unnecessary. Life is like that. Most times, fear grips you over what has no power over you or what can't even hurt you. The fear of the unknown is always as if the unknown has a kind of power that kills. At times, the unknown may be nothing powerful just like the hung bucket. The unknown thing you fear, the one on the road you want to cross, could be a simple thing you can just walk through. False beliefs and false feelings are ingredients of fear. Fear succeeds when you have a bad mind sight. Darkness gave me a false picture and brought fear. Light gave me a true picture and made me regret being afraid. Light is open and shows something as it is. Light is true and fear has no power in light. You need light to walk freely in life."
