Quote for today

"My brother and I went to the market to buy a book. We went to many bookshops but no one had the book. We came to a man's shop but he wasn't around. We entered his neighbor's shop, he searched his shelves and told us that he doesn't have the book.

The man we entered his shop earlier returned as we were about to leave his neighbor's shop. We asked him if he has the book, he said no but that his neighbor, the one we just left his shop, has it. We told him that his neighbor said that he doesn't have it. The man called his neighbor and said, 'did you say you don't have the book?'. He said yes. The man walked to his neighbor's shop and pointed at the book for him.

We were shocked. We bought the book from his neighbor and then went back to his shop. I told him that his action deserves a reward. I gave him money worth more than half the price of the book and told him to continue in his goodness.

I learnt the following and more:
• Put your thoughts to what you do. Know your business.
• Know what you have.
• Know how to keep and organize what you have. Being organized helps you to know what you have and what you don't have.
• Know the value of what you have.
• Don't let your competitor know what you have more than yourself.
• Don't take advantage of your neighbor's weakness. Help him. Teach him.
• When you reward character, you give with all your heart.

The man touched my heart by giving me an experience with his character. He earned my buying decision. His character earned him a customer and gave him a potential source of income. Character is a source of income.

Help people discover what they have. Don't take advantage of their weakness. Give people an experience that touches their feelings. Your character is an earning opportunity."
